I recently finished my third week working remotely for Telo.
This week presented a mixture of new struggles and encouragement.
Very early in the week, I got locked out of my business google account from my computer. For some reason, instead of simply accepting my password, it told me my sign-in did not meet the organizations policy. I contacted my boss but I ended up having to access not only my business email from my phone the whole week, but also had to access the documents on my google drive from my phone.
I also managed to set up introductory phone calls with two of my co-workers, both located in Puerto Rico. Though I have documented plenty of detailed questions about the company and products, I wanted to keep the first conversations short and light. As the only remote employee, it’s difficult to really get a feel for the company culture and know what’s going on when you’re not with anyone else. These conversations helped me get some insight and form a clearer picture of Telo. I also set up a third conversation for Tuesday of this coming week with another co-worker.
I realized through these conversations just how much there is to learn. It’s a bit daunting, but at the same time I feel like I have a better idea of what’s expected of me. I’m more prepared to take on this next week, even if I have to do everything from my phone again.
