Professional Work
After moving on from Digifox, I pitched myself to another brand-new start-up I’d been watching since their earliest development called Cadoo. I started out as our only support rep, and quickly moved into operations. I eventually became the company’s COO and managed a small team under me.
I was brought on to a brand new start-up founded by crypto analyst of DataDash, Nicholas Merten. Though since shut down, I worked with the title of Head of Content Creation. Since it was such an early stage start-up, I wore multiple hats and worked in our support, social media management, and video creation on top of blog post writing.
I was brought on as the youngest sales hire at a start-up known as Dispatch despite never having worked in sales before. I learned quickly to earn my new colleagues respect and maintained one of the highest conversion rates of between 5-10%.
In November of 2018, I began my official career journey by being accepted into Praxis, a college alternative program which at that time had only a 15% acceptance rate. I graduated a year later after landing a sales role and in 2022 I was voted Praxis Alumni of the Year by my peers.
I wrote three blog posts for The Rebel Daily, a small publication on Medium. This one is titled “Jan From ‘The Office’ and Grabbing Opportunity”.

I was published on GoRealty’s blog, a company out of Pittsburgh PA. I had never lived in Pittsburgh or Pennsylvania, but through research and careful writing my work was not only published but I was told it was the favorite out of those submitted by third parties.
I was interviewed and written about by a peer.
I wrote and submitted a blog post to Praxis. It was approved and published.
I opened a Shopify store and learned how to run Facebook ads for it. Read about my experience. Week 1/4 Update.

I started playing tennis when I was about thirteen. I never expected to get anywhere with it. I started late, I wasn’t especially motivated (at the time I was a ski racer, and that’s what I wanted to excel at), and I didn’t expect to go far. Years later, I got my certification and became a professional tennis coach.
I used to have a blog focused almost purely on writing tips, tricks, and experiences. I compiled many of my posts, added, edited, and formatted to create How To Write a Novel (an eBook)
Children’s books are simple to write. It was something I’d always thought about doing, but never had. Finally, I presented the idea to an artist friend of mine, and she jumped on it. Together, we created Constellation (an illustrated kids book)
I got my Red Cross Babysitter certification when I was about thirteen. I started babysitting children other than my siblings and gained a reputation that frequently earned me extra jobs and extra tips. I worked in a group setting with two or more other sitters, who I managed. I delegated tasks, split tips, and did more to communicate with both sitters and parents than the woman above us, the Babysitting Coordinator.
To earn a little extra money and learn as much as I could about business and working, I got a job doing customer service work as a cashier at our local grocery store.
