When first being invented and mass-produced, cars were a sign of wealth and freedom. Eventually, they became a bit of a necessity. However, that’s not necessarily true anymore, especially in cities.
Phones used to be simple technology. There wasn’t a whole lot you could do with it, especially before the smartphone. However, that too is changing.
With public transportation more accessible, and services like Uber and Lyft becoming more popular, the roles have sort of reversed. Now, the smartphone is a necessity, and having a car can actually be more troublesome than helpful.
After all, what can you do with a car? Drive places. Listen to the radio. That’s pretty much it.
What can you do with a phone? Call someone to bring a car to you. Buy a ticket to take a train or bus. Get directions. Listen to your favorite playlist in the car.
Of course, cars are still a necessity for a lot of people. But if you had to choose between your phone or your car, which would you pick?
